The Nigeria Customs Service (NIS) in Kebbi,  has advocated synergy among security personnel in order to strengthen peace and security in the state.

The new Customs Area Controller, Kebbi Command, Comptroller, Ben Oramalugo, made the call while on a familiarization tour to security agencies in the state on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.

Oramalugo visited the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) and Federal Road Safety corps, among others.

While in FRSC headquarters in the state, he said that he was on a familiarization tour  in order to foster existing synergy between Nigeria customs service and other security agencies in the state.

Oramalugo said that the job of all security agencies is mainly to maintain peace, order and protect lives, adding that such could not be achieved without cooperation and understanding among personnel of various agencies.

“We security agencies are all one family. We are like siblings. And Nigeria is our father. Even though the colour of our uniforms differs, our goal remains the same.

“That is protection of lives and properties, although we have another core responsibility as Customs officers to generate revenue for the nation.

“But all these cannot be attained in an atmosphere of rancor among us,” he said.

He also expressed the readiness of his officers and men to render any support if the need arose, while soliciting for same from heads of the agencies.
