DEFECTION: I REMAINED IN PDP, SAYS MATAWALLE’S AIDE

Dr Aslam Aliyu, Special Adviser to Gov Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State on Skills Acquisition, has said that she did not defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC) with Matawalle, saying that she remained in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Aslam disclosed this at a news conference in Gusau on Tuesday few hours after Matawalle’s defecting from PDP to the APC.

“Though, Gov Bello Matawalle while planning for defection he contacted his Commissioners and Special Advisers about his ambition and I am among them”, she said.
He told us his reasons for leaving the PDP for APC and he also knows my own reasons that I cannot follow him to APC.

“You know, I am a loyalist of the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, he is my mentor and father, l am in politics because of him.

“Therefore as far as he is in PDP, I will not leave the party.

“Following the new development in the state of defection of Matawalle to PDP, I am informing the general public that I am not among his aides that defected to APC today,” I remained in my political party, the PDP”, She added.

“On her position of Special Adviser to the Gov Bello Matawalle on Skills Acquisition, Aslam said she will continue to run the responsibility given to her by the Governor.

“I think this my decision did not affect my zeal to work in the state, political differences will not stop me from continue contributing to the development of my dear state”, Aslam explained.
