Democracy Day: President Tinubu inspects Guards Brigade parade
President Bola Tinubu on Monday inspected the parade mounted by the Presidential Guard Brigade at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that this was part of the celebration of the June 12 Democracy Day.
The democracy day was marked as a symbolic gesture to commemorate the day the military handled over power to the civilian in 1999 after the struggle that followed the annulment of the June 12, 1993 elections.
Late MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the election, was incarcerated by the military and later died in detention.

Tinubu was also entertained by the guard brigade cultural troupe comprising the children of personnel of the brigade.
The occasion was witnessed by Vice President Kashim Shettima, senate president Lawan Ahmed, speaker of he House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila.
Also in attendance were the chief of defence staff, service chiefs as well as permanent secretaries.
