He said personnel of the agency had been directed to be positioned at all exits of the state from July 18 to July 22, to sensitise road users on the need to embrace safety measures during the Sallah celebration.

“The agency headquarters observed that it is necessary to have operation eagle eyes just like we do every yuletide to sensitise the public to adhere to traffic rules in order to have accident free celebration,” he said.

Saidu, who was represented by Mr Hussaini Isah, Head, Search and Rescue Unit, said the agency would work together with stakeholders to ensure the success of the exercise.

She said the exercise was a step to further prepare for eventualities that might arise as emergency responders ready to respond to any accident, emergency and other disaster that might occur during the Sallah festival.

Saidu added that the operation was a standby mechanism that would ensure that emergency responders were not taken unawares and were able to save lives.

Highlights of the event was a display and practical demonstration of extrication tools usage to keep them in tune and ready to respond to any emergency that might arise during the Sallah festival.
