FCT President Cup: Family Worship Champion FC defeat Setraco FC 3-1
Family Worship Champion ( FWC) Football Club on Wednesday pulled off a stunning comeback win against Setraco FC, overturning an early deficit to secure a 3-1 victory in the FCT President Federation Cup.
The Voice Media Trust ( VMT NEWS) reports that the ongoing 2025 FCT President Federation Cup runs from Feb. 3 to Feb. 23 at the Area 3 football pitch, Abuja.
The match got off to a promising start for Setraco FC when Saidu Yakubu unleashed a powerful shot from outside the 18-yard box, catching the opposing team off guard and finding the back of the net in the 49th minute.
However, FWC refused to give up, and their persistence paid off when Marhlon Bobai equalised with a spectacular bicycle kick in the 58th minute.
The momentum shifted in favor of FWC as Emmanuel Ushe nodded home the team’s second goal in the 68th minute, capitalising on a superb free kick that the Setraco FC goalkeeper couldn’t hold onto.
Igboche Joshua sealed the win for FWC FC with a third goal in the 85th minute securing a hard-fought 3-1 victory.
This comeback victory marks a significant win for FWC FC.
Speaking after the match, Bunmi Haruna, coach of FWC FC said that “I am thrilled with the outcome of today’s match.This is our first game in the competition, it was crucial to start strong.
“Although we missed several scoring opportunities in the first half, the team’s determination and resilience paid off in the second half,” he said.
According to him, the players took control of the game, executing the game plan perfectly.
“We had studied our opponent’s strengths and developed a strategy to counter them.
“ I am incredibly proud of my team for their hard work and dedication, which ultimately led to this well-deserved victory,”he said.

The team will wait for the winner between (Assess FC Vs likeminds FC ).
In the second match played at the same venue Mailantarki FC, a nationwide league one (NLO ) side defeated Burnaboy football Academy 1-0.
VMT NEWS report that the teams competing in the men’s category are EFCC FC(defending champions) ,Sporting Supreme FC (runners-up), Dazzler FC, Legacy Stars FC and Derby Academy.
Others are; Galadima FC, Burnaboy Academy, Milantarki FC,FWC FC, Setraco FC, Access FC, Like Minds FC, N Youth Academy and Hybissuer Academy.
In the women’s category, the two teams competing are Naija Ratel FC and N Youth Ladies who will play in the final.
