Frontline troops host journalists for Ramadan Iftar.

The Nigerian army has commended journalists for exhibiting professionalism in reporting military operations and activities in the northeast.
The Commander sector two joint task force, northeast operation hadin kai Damaturu, Brigadier General Beyidi Martins made the statement during a Ramadan iftar organised in honour of working journalists in Damaturu the Yobe state capital on Saturday 28th February 2026
Brigadier General Beyidi Martins applauded journalists for their contribution and timely dissemination of information on operational activities of the troops in the theater.
He emphasised the importance of media collaboration in shaping public perception and maintaining trust in security institutions.
According to him the army recognises the critical roles of the media in countering misinformation and promoting national security.
Brigadier general Beyidi Martins assured the readiness of the Nigerian army to organise special training for journalists aimed at fostering collaboration and improving covarage on military operations.

Earlier the chairman, Nigeria union of journalists Yobe state council Comrade Rajab Muhammad Isma’il emphasised the importance of peace, unity and responsible journalism in fostering national security and cohesion.
Comrade Rajab further called on the commander sector two joint task force northeast operation hadin kai to organise special training for journalists on military operations in conflict affected areas.
Comrade Rajab informs the sector commander that NUJ is organising media games as a tool for fostering interagency collaboration and peace building in the state.
He uses the medium and commended brigadier General Beyidi Martings for organising the Ramadan iftar saying it is first of its kind, stressing that continued collaboration between the army and journalists strengthen civil military relations in the state.
