FUHSO VC, TETFund Boss Inspect Legacy Projects at Akwete-Akpa
In a demonstration of unwavering commitment to quality assurance and the timely completion of critical infrastructure, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), Professor Francis Aba Uba, on April 4, 2026, led the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Arc. Sonny Togo Echono, alongside other principal officers, on an inspection tour of ongoing legacy projects at Akwete-Akpa.

The projects inspected include an ultra-modern College of Medicine complex, an Administrative Building, Microbiology and Physics Departments, the University Gate, a 202-bed space Students’ hostel, and an extensive road networks within the campus. These developments form part of the university’s strategic vision to establish a world-class academic and research environment.

It will be recalled that only a few months ago, the Vice-Chancellor, in company of the TETFund Executive Secretary and other key officials, undertook an earlier inspection of the same projects at the permanent site. Upon completion, the facilities are expected to rank among the best in West Africa, distinguished by contemporary architectural designs and state-of-the-art amenities.
During the visit, the TETFund Executive Secretary conducted a thorough assessment of the facilities, including the Multi-User Central Teaching and Research Laboratory and the medical students’ hostel designated for students preparing to commence clinical training at the Federal University of Health Teaching Hospital, Otukpo (FUTHSO). The inspection team expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work being executed.

The projects are projected for completion in the coming months and are expected to be commissioned by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
