Funeral Prayers for Zamfara Speaker’s father dies in bandits’ hands
Alhaji Mu’azu Magarya, father of the Speaker, Zamfara House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasiru Magarya, has died.
The late Alhaji Magarya, who is the village head of Magarya town died in captivity in the hands of his abductors.
The State Police Command in Zamfara, had on Saturday rescued some victims, including the Speaker’s step mother and four other members of the family, who were kidnapped three months ago by some unknown gunmen.
Meanwhile, thousands of sympathisers had on Monday, stormed the residence of the Speaker, Alhaji Nasiru Magarya for the funeral prayer of his father, Alhaji Mu’azu Magarya.
The absentee funeral prayer was held at the Speakers’ residence on Gada biyu area of Gusau, the state capital.

The absentee funeral prayer was led by the Chairman, State Ulama Consultative Forum, Sheikh Abubakar Fari.
Speaking at the event, Sheikh Tukur Jangebe, described Magarya’s death in captivity of the bandits as worrisome and a lesson from Allah.
“This is one of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) to have funeral prayer for absentee,”he said.
He called on people of the state to continue with prayers and seek for Allah’s intervention to provide lasting solution to lingering security challenges facing the state and country in general.
