Gombe gets new police commissioner
Mr Umar Chuso, on Thursday, assumed duty as the newly posted Commissioner of Police in Gombe State.
This is contained in a statement in Gombe by DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the spokesman of the command.
Chuso takes over from Bello Yahaya who has been redeployed to the Police Staff College, Jos.
The new CP hails from Sokoto South Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Chuso holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He joined the Nigeria Police Force on 10th June, 1994, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), and underwent professional training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
“Throughout his illustrious career, CP Chuso has served in several strategic and leadership positions, including Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command,” amongst others.”

The statement quoted Chuso as calling for sustained cooperation of all stakeholders to effectively overcome crimes and social vices in the state.
Chuso pledged to strengthen community-based policing as a strategic approach to crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and improved police-community relations.
While urging stakeholders to strengthen collaboration with the police through active participation in community-based policing initiatives, sharing of credible information, and collective responsibility for public safety, Chuso reiterated commitment to protect lives and property.
