A passionate badminton enthusiast himself, Governor Idris, who serves as the Grand Patron of the club, emphasized the sport’s popularity and longevity.

He highlighted that badminton players, including veterans, continue to compete at various levels without age restrictions. He noted that badminton fosters unity, love, and socioeconomic prosperity, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to its funding and promotion.

The Governor recalled that, in the past, the annual Kauran Gwandu National Badminton Competition was hosted in Abuja due to the lack of a standard facility in Kebbi. However, with the commissioning of the new hall, this year’s edition will be held in Birnin Kebbi.
