Gov. Idris’ wife doles out cash, items to babies born in 2024 

The Wife of Kebbi Governor, Hajiya Nafisa Idris, has distributed cash and babies’ stuff to two new born babies and a set of triplet born in 2024 at Fati Lami Women and Children section of Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital in the state. 

While distributing the items in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, Hajiya Idris, congratulated the mothers for their successful deliveries and wished them a happy new year. 

She prayed to Allah to bless the babies and wished the mothers quick recovery.

“I was informed that the 

first baby of the year, a baby girl was put to bed at 6.30a.m on Monday by Hajiya Fa’iza Ibrahim.

“Another baby boy was also delivered at 1:30p.m by Hajiya Zara’u Usman.

“Also, a set of triplets were born at the hospital in the afternoon by Hajiya Hauwa’u Atiku-Diggi, two boys and a girl.

“We thank God all the babies and their mothers are in good health and condition,” she said. 

Idris’wife urged women to ensure attendance of anti-natal care in oder to reduce high rate of maternal and child mortality in the state. 

“Through this form of preventive health care, women can learn from skilled health personnel about healthy behaviours during pregnancy, better understand warning signs during pregnancy and childbirth.

“Through antenatal care, pregnant women can also access micro-nutrient supplementation, treatment for hypertension to prevent eclampsia, as well as immunization against tetanus.

“Antenatal care can also provide HIV testing and medications to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV,” the governor’s wife urged. 

In his response, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Abubakar Zaki, thanked the wife of the governor for her support to the development of maternal health in the state.

He also described the gesture as commendable and worthy of emulation.

Zaki commended the present administration of Gov. Idris for his efforts in improving the health sector in the state.

Hajiya Ibrahim received N500,000, baby’s milk and essential kits while Hajiya Usman received N200,000 and baby’s items.

The mother of the triplet, Hajiya Atiku-Diggi received N300,000 and babies’ kits.
