Gov. Sule donates office complex to NCDC for commencement of operations
Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has donated a well finished office complex to the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) in Lafia, to facilitate the smooth takeoff of the commission.
Sule, while handing over the edifice to the management and board members of the Commission on Tuesday, said the gesture was aimed at ensuring the smooth takeoff of the commission.
According to the governor, the event is historic as it marks the commencement of the operations of the much-awaited NCDC.
Sule also announced that the state would provide temporary residential accomodation to the management of the Commission to enable to the to quickly settle down and commence full operation.
The governor appreciated President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly members their efforts the establishment of the NCDC.
Sule, being the chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, pledged the support of his colleagues to the communion in order to fulfil their mandate.
“All the governors and members of the National Assembly from the zone will meet with you in Abuja on Thursday, Sept.18, to see how we can all support you with logistics for a smooth take off.
“We want to work together and collectively own the commission to avoid any friction as witnessed in other places,” Sule said.
In his remarks, Mr Cosmas Akighir, Chairman of the commission, appreciated the governor for the donation of the office complex for the headquarter of NCDC.
He commended Sule’s leadership and development strides, saying that the commission would want to collaborate with the state to drive development, lift the living standard of the people and alleviate poverty in the zone
The chairman, however, appealed to the state government for allocation of land to the commission for the construction of a befitting headquarter, as well as operational vehicles as they were grappling with their budgetary provision.
Also, Dr Cyril Tsenyil, Managing Director, NCDC, said that the gesture justified the citing of the the commission’s headquarter in Lafia.

“Today, you have proven that, indeed, the decision was not misplaced through your efforts to ensure that we hit the ground running without any challenges.
“Apart from giving us a temporary office facility at the state’s liaison office in Abuja, you have today fulfilled your promise to hand over to us a fully furnished office complex, which will serve as the headquarters of NCDC.
“The history of NCDC will never be complete without you, and we are highly indebted to you.
“As we settle down to business, I want to assure you that we will collaborate with all governors and other stakeholders in the zone to improve the infrastructure and living conditions of our people.
The MD appreciated the president for the confidence reposed in them and promised to discharge their duties with the fear of God to complement the developmental gaps in the zone.
