Gov. Sule urges NYSC members to explore opportunities in Nasarawa
Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has urged the 2088 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state to tap into opportunities available in the state.
He made the call at the closing ceremony of the orientation exercise for the 2025 Batch B stream II set deployed to the state at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC Permanent orientation camp in Keffi Local Government Area on Tuesday.
Represented by Mr Yakubu Kwanta, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, the governor congratulated the youth corps members for a hitch-free orientation and urged them to carry the torch of inspiration as they step into the next phase of the service year.
Sule then informed the corps members that Nasarawa State is blessed with mineral resources and fertile land ideal for a wide range of crops, making agriculture profitable and the mainstay of the state’s economy.
He said “these gifts from nature provide enormous opportunities” hence the call
to be curious, recognise opportunities and tap into them.
“I hope you will recognise these opportunities and tap into them. Be curious, be creative and explore ways to contribute to your community’s development, while building stronger economic future for yourself.
“I encourage you to align yourself with these efforts. Work closely with your host communities, share ideas and participate in projects that uplift the lives of those around you. Together, we can drive real progress.”
He then appealed to employers of labour in the state to receive the corps members posted to their establishments and give them the chance to contribute meaningfully.

Mrs Salamatu Muhammad, the Coordinator of the scheme in the state, congratulated the corps members for conducting themselves properly during the three-week orientation course.
She urged them to serve with humility and selflessness and be positive ambassadors of their families, the NYSC and the nation wherever they are posted to.
“Embrace your postings, avoid seeking reassignments and strive to impact your host communities meaningfully,” she said.
She also urged the corps members to identify community needs, collaborate with others and leave a legacy of service after completing the year.
