Jigawa governor tasks youths to discipline, respect for elders
Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa has urged youths to be discipline and show greater respect for elders to enable them to have a meaningful future.
He said this during the Citizens’ Engagement exercise on Monday in Babura, headquarters of Baubura Local Government Area of the state.
Namadi stressed the need for the youths to be discipline, shun vices and support government’s policies and programmes to fasttrack sustainable social and economic development in the state.
While reiterating commitment to viable infrastructure development projects, Namadi lauded political and community leaders for their supports to his administration.
Mr Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, said the Namadi administration initiated the citizens’ engagement programme, to address the aspirations of the people.

He said the programme aimed at promoting inclusivity in governance, and gather feedback on people oriented projects.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that the citizens engagement seeks to provide a platform for accountability, where political office holders at all levels mobilise and engage with their people directly to hear their concerns.
The event is billed to hold across the 27 local government areas of the state.
