Kebbi assembly pledges collaboration with media for enhanced publicity
The Kebbi House of Assembly has pledged to partner with the media to propagate activities of the house and government in general.
Receiving the executive members of Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kebbi chapter, the Speaker of the house, Alhaji Muhammad Usman-Zuru lauded the chapel’s leadership for the foresight and initiative to visit the house.

The speaker, who was represented by Alhaji Abdullahi Danjuma, Chairman, House Committee on Information, said the partnership would be beneficial to both parties.
While describing the media as a very important tool in the propagation of information, the speaker said the visit and seeking partnership with the assembly will certainly facilitate mutual benefits.

“I assure you that you will have our own support. I urge the media to support the good policies and programmes of the state government, publicise them, so that more people will be enlightened and informed about them.”
Earlier, the Chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel, Alhaji Kabir Wurma, said the essence of the visit was to create a cordial working relationship with the state assembly.
He explained that members of the Correspondents’ Chapel were reporters of various media organisations posted to the state to cover not only government activities but also other happenings across the state.
The chairman noted that the union wanted to collaborate with the house to publicise its activities and projects, especially those that have direct bearing to the generality.
Wurma appreciated the lawmakers for the good bills they have been passing and urged them to sustain the tempo for the good of all.
