Kebbi Governor Empowers Local Government Councils with New Buses 

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has provided a significant boost to local governance by distributing 21 buses to all 21 Local Government Councils in the state.

The gesture, aimed at enhancing legislative functions, particularly in remote areas, was made during a ceremony at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi. Governor Idris personally handed over the keys to the buses to the Chairmen of the Local Government Councils, led by the Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government and State ALGON Chairman, Alhaji Dahiru NaYaya Ambursa.

“This initiative responds directly to the needs expressed by council chairmen to strengthen local governance,” said Governor Idris. “These buses will provide our Councilors with the mobility needed to reach every corner of their communities and address the needs of their constituents.”

The Governor acknowledged the transportation challenges faced by some councillors, emphasizing that the buses will provide a critical resource for their legislative work. He urged the council chairmen to ensure responsible use and maintenance of the vehicles, emphasizing their significant value.

Alhaji Dahiru Na Yaya, on behalf of the 21 council chairmen, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for the generous gift. He assured the Governor that the vehicles would be utilized solely for legislative functions and play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of the councils.
