Kebbi Governor, Idris dissolves all political appointments, approves new ones 

Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi has dissolved all political appointments of the immediate past administration and approved eight new ones.

Alhaji Ahmed Idris, Press Secretary to the Governor disclosed this in a statement made available to newsman in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

He said: “The Executive Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) has approved the immediate dissolution of the Kebbi State Executive Council, Boards of Agencies and Parastatals and all political appointees of the immediate past administration.

“Similarly, the Executive Governor has also approved the appointments of eight principal officers.”

Those appointed according to the Press Secretary, are: Attahiru Macido as Chief of Staff to the Governor, Yakubu Bala, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Aminu Musa-Danko as Personal Assistant (PA) to the Governor.

Others he said were; Aliyu Bandado-Argungu, Special Adviser, New Media, Abu Zaidu-Yari, Senior Special Assistant News Media, Umar Shehu-Baiti, Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Ahmed Idris, Press Secretary to the governor and Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

Idris explained that all appointments were based on merit and track records of the appointees, adding that the appointments were with effect from May 29.

He said: “The Executive Governor challenges the appointees to see their appointments as call to service and to do their best to justify the confidence reposed in them.

“He wishes them the best in the discharge of their patriotic services to the state and the nation.”
