Kebbi governor pledges support for Police

Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi has reiterated his administration continued support to the Nigeria Police Force in discharge of its responsibilities.

He said this during a courtesy visit by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in-charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara, Mr Bello Sani-Dalijan, on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi.

The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that the AIG was accompanied in the visit by the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi, Mr Lawal Abubakar-Daura.

While appreciating the AIG and his entourage for the visit, the governor also expressed delight with the posting of Abubakar -Daura as CP to the state, describing him as a good man capable of discharging duty diligently.

“I am glad to inform you that the capability of the CP is worthy of commendation. I want to acknowledge that you have given us a good man and we have no regret having him.

“He has done well during the elections period and people of the state can testify to his efforts in fighting crime and criminality.

“We are going to do everything humanly possible to assist the Kebbi State Police Command in order to make sure that the command carries out its operations diligently,” he said.

Idris assured that the government would meet the security agencies in the state, to address the security problem in Danko Wasagu Local Government as well as a village in Yauri.

Earlier, Sani-Dalijan said that he was in the state to thank the state government for unrelenting support to the police and congratulate him on his electoral victory.
