Kebbi Police re-strategise toward hitch-free guber election
The Kebbi State Police Command says it is re-strategising toward hitch-free gubernatorial and state assembly elections across the state.
CP Ahmed Magaji-Kontagora made the disclosure during a stakeholders meeting held at the command’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that the meeting, organised by the command to bring together political stakeholders, drew representatives from different political parties in the state.
The CP said the essence of the meeting was to appraise the general conduct of electorate during the presidential and national assembly elections and fashion out ways to ensure peaceful, successful and hitch-free guber elections.
“We are not here to fight but gathered here to interact and brainstorm on how to facilitate peaceful, hitch-free, successful and acceptable elections in the forthcoming governorship polls” he noted.
The police commissioner commended residents of Kebbi for coming out to exercise their franchise in an orderly manner during the recent elections.
Magaji-Kontagora appealed to them to sustain the tempo, support and cooperate with the security agencies to enable them to discharge their duties diligently.

He appealed to parents and political stakeholders to caution their wards and party loyalists against thuggery, misconduct and anything that could lead to breach of the peace before, during and after the elections.
The CP assured people of the state of readiness of the security agencies to provide adequate security throughout the election period.
Magaji-Kontagora appealed to Journalists to be fair while discharging their constitutional duties responsibly.
He advised them to avoid all forms of sensational stories and promote peace in the land.
