Kebbi takes delivery of 57,810 doses of COVID-19 Vaccines

Kebbi State Government says it has taken delivery of the first consignment of 57,810 doses of COVID-19 Vaccines, preparatory to the commencement of the vaccination in the state.

The Commissioner for Health and Chairman, Taskforce on COVID-19, Hon. Jafar Muhammad, disclosed this on Thursday, shortly after conducting newsmen round the state Cold Store where the Vaccines have been stored.

According to the him, Kebbi State Government had received the ” Astrazeneca” Vaccines that were delivered by the Federal Government, Thursday.

He said,” We have received the first batch of AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccines early morning of today.

“A total number of 57,810 doses have been allocated and delivered to Kebbi state.”

The Commissioner announced that, the Vaccines would be transported to the Local Government Areas’ cold stores and subsequently to the facility solar refrigerators, in all the wards in the state.

Muhammad categorically declared that, the vaccination was free, while the Target Groups to be vaccinated in the first phase of the exercise consisted of frontline Health workers and other related colleagues .

The rest are: political, religious and traditional leaders, security personnel, Media practitioners, Bank Staff and other citizens.

He assured members of the public that, the COVID-19 Vaccine was safe and that, it was certified by NAFDAC.

The Commissioner further said that, the Inspectorate Division of the Ministry of Health would strictly monitor the vaccination process throughout the State.
