Labour Union, pensioners applauded Gov-buni for approving 7.9 billion naira  gratuities backlog.

The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has applauded governor Mai Mala Buni for the release of 7.9  billion naira for the payment of state and local government retires gratuities.

 In a special report compile by Voice Media Trust News  in Damaturu the Yobe state capital some pensioners described the gesture as apt and timely.

 According to them, clearing the backlog will institutionalise prompt, timely and effective payment system of gratuity to retired workers in the state.

 This singular gesture will equally provide the much needed financial relief and restore stability in homes and businesses places towns and villages in the state.

 Appreciating the governor’s magnanimity, chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Yobe state council Comrade Muktar  Musa Tarbutu said the approval will Alley fears of retirement and improve the livelihood of retired civil servant in the state.

 Comrade Tarbutu emphasized that the gesture will not only touch the lives of pensioners but those in active service who are stone throw away from retirement.

 He therefore urged civil servants to remain committed and promote the ideals of the Buni-led administration for the overall progress and development of the state.

 In a similar response, the chairman Nigeria union of pensioners Yobe state chapter Ibrahim Isa Goki Said the approval for the settlement of the backlog of retirees entitlement would bring relief to those who have served the state with diligence and dedication.

 Represented by the association’s vice chairman, Bukar Kolo, the chairman commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of civil servants, pointing out that Buni’s selfless and dedication to public duty are unprecedented.

 Some retirees who spoke to the YBC news crew applauded governor Mai Mala Buni’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of pensioners in the state.

 Mallam Lawan Kazir, Muhammad Abubakar and Amina Musa described governor Buni as a compassionate leader who stood firm in improving the living conditions of his people.

 They expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying it will go a long way in ameliorating the long lasting grief experienced by retirees in the state.
