Leadership reshuffle: Prof. Bello Sabo succeeds Doko-Ibrahim as ABU’s DVC Administration
The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced a leadership reshuffle as Prof. Bello Sabo was endorsed by the Senate as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
Also, Prof. Raymond Bako secured a second term as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
A statement issued by Malam Auwalu Umar, Director of Public Affairs, ABU on Thursday in Zaria, said the senate unanimously endorsed Sabo while it also re-endorsed Bako for a second term.
According to Umar, both endorsements followed their nominations by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, who presided over the meeting.
Umar said Sabo, a Professor of Business Administration and former Dean of the Faculty of Administration, replaced Prof. Ahmed Doko-Ibrahim, whose tenure ends on Aug. 31.

The director added that Bako’s return for another term as DVC (Academic) was also pending the Council’s approval.
He explained that Bako currently serves as Centre Leader of the Africa Centre of Excellence on New Pedagogies in Engineering Education (ACENPEE).
He, therefore, quoted the vice-chancellor as congratulating the appointees and wished them success in their assignments.
He also commended Doko-Ibrahim for the successful completion of his second and final term as DVC.
