Marafa-led APC faction hails security agencies for peaceful LG congresses in Zamfara
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara state under Sen.Kabiru Marafa led faction has lauded security agencies in the state over peaceful conduct of the local government congresses of the party in the state.
The faction held parallel LG congresses in the state as APC faction leadership under Gov. Bello Matawalle also held congresses in the state under the Chairmanship of Sen. Hassan Nasiha.
But the APC leadership under former governor, Abdul’aziz Yari led by Alhaji Lawal M Liman has earlier urged its members to boycott all the congresses organized by APC leadership under Gov Bello Matawalle following the court order restriction order by the federal high court to avoid organising congresses.

Speaking at a news conference in Gusau on Saturday, the leader of Marafa APC-led faction, Sirajo Maikatako said the LG congresses of the faction held peacefully and successful.
“We appreciate our delegates from the 147 wards of the state who participated in the exercise across the 14 LGAs in the state.
“We extend our appreciation on behalf of the entire Senator Kabiru Marafa loyalists in the state to Independent Electoral Election Commission (INEC) officials and security agencies in the state for their coverage which led to peaceful conduct of the congresses”, he said.
Maikatako urged members of the party in the state to always remain calm and law-abiding for the peaceful co-existence in the state.
