MATAWALLE VISITS ZAMFARA POLICE COMMAND, COMMENDS OFFICERS AND MEN
Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has paid an unscheduled visit to Zamfara State Police Command Headquarters Gusau as an encouragement to security agencies in the state.
In a statement issued in Gusau on Wednesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Muhammad Shehu said during the visit Matawalle commended the officers and men of the NPF in their commitments to tackling criminal activities.
The visit was part of the governor’s morale boosting to officers and men of the command who had been working towards protecting lives and property of the people in the state.
Matawalle, who was received by the Commissioner of Police and members of the management team, led by Commissioner of police Mr Husaini Rabi’u called on them to redouble their sacrifice, as the government would always be ready to support them with all the logistics that would make them to function effectively.

The governor further thanked the Commissioner of Police and his management team for their leadership capacity, saying that it had gone along way in professional handling of critical security issues, especially Monday’s riot organised by some unscrupulous elements in Kuryar, Madaro and Maguru areas of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, in order to undermine the peace and stability of the state.
He called on the police and other security operatives in the state to always remain resolute and determined to deal with any person or group that embark on actions capable of creating fear and confusion in the state.
He also charged them to comply with the presidential directive regarding illegal possession of AK 47 rifle by unauthorised persons and groups in the state.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Rabiu, thanked the governor for the visit and commendation, noting that, it would boost the morale of the operatives in ending the prevailing security challenges in the state.
Rabi’u also promised to work in synergy with the state government, other security agencies and relevant stakeholders, in finding a lasting solution to the security challenges in the state.
