In a bid to correct earlier reports, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has issued a statement attributing the recent success against Boko Haram terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin solely to the Chadian Armed Forces.
According to the clarification, the Chadian military single-handedly neutralized 70 terrorists and destroyed five camps within their territory, a feat they announced during a press conference on June 30, 2024.
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Chief Military Public Information Officer of the MNJTF, issued the correction on July 2, 2024, apologizing for any confusion caused by their earlier press release.
The MNJTF commended the Chadian forces for their significant contributions to combating terrorism and emphasized the importance of accurate reporting to ensure proper attribution of military operations.
This clarification shines a light on the crucial role played by the Chadian forces in the fight against Boko Haram and the need for precise reporting to acknowledge their achievements.
