My administration is committed to peace promotion — Sule
Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nassarawa State, says his administration is committed to the promotion of unity and peace in the state.
Sule stated this during the inauguration and swearing in ceremony of the National Executives of Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA) Worldwide on Wednesday in Nassarawa Eggon LGA.
The Governor said that his administration would continue to provide an all-inclusive leadership for the unity, peace and development of the state.
” I want to congratulate Mandy Abuluya the President of ECDA and other executive members on their well-deserved victories at the poll.
” I want to congratulate Abuluya for the good work he is doing,” he said
Sule commended Aren Eggon, retired Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alakuand other traditional rules for promoting unity and peace in Eggon nation.
The Governor donated a vehicle and pledged to build a perimeter fence at Eggon Community Secondary School, Nassarawa Eggon and donated 150 bags of rice to the association for less-privileged persons to celebrate the forthcoming Christmas.
Also Speaking, Dr Danladi Jatau, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, called for unity among the Eggon people and their neighbours.
” I urge the new ECDA leadership to interact and work with other ethnic groups for the unity, peace, progress and development of the state,” he said .
Jatau appreciated the ECDA president, saying that he has done well over the years and called on him to do more.
” It is our expectations that you will do more and carry all those that contested and lost along for the development of Eggon Nation,” he added
Jatau also appreciated Sule for the good things he has been doing for the Eggon nation.
On his Part, Alhaji Isiyaku Abdullahi , the Chairman of the occasion, a stakeholder, commended the electoral committee for conducting a free, fair and transparent election.
He urged the ECDA officials to work closely with the traditional rulers and other stakeholders for the unity, pace and development of Eggon nation.
The chairman of the occasion appreciated Sule for his consistent support to Eggon nation and called for its sustenance.
Justice Habila Abundaga, Judge of the Customary Court of Appeal , Lafia, while administering the Oath of Office on the newly elected officials urged them to work in line with the constitution of Nigeria while discharging their duties.
He also urged them to ensure transparency and accountability in performing their duties.
Prof. Evelyn Lami of the University of Jos while delivering a keynote address with the theme: ‘Building on the Foundation : Unity, Legacy and Strategic Development for a Greater Eggon Nation’, called for unity among the people of Eggon nation.
She said ECDA must remain the umbrella for all Eggon people
” Let us build an Eggon nation where every citizen , at home or abroad , can proudly say, I belong , I contribute , and I thrive,” she said.
Responding, Abuluya, appreciated God and the delegates for his re-election.
” I have revived Eggon Community Secondary School, Nassarawa Eggon. Enrollment had grown from 13 students to over 650 students.
” WAEC and NECO examinations had been restored. Ten classrooms have been renovated and academic life has returned with dignity among others,” he said
Abuluya said that he has done well in his first tenure and promised to do more in his second term.
The ECDA president said that he was committed to the completion of the school by mobilising resources to construct perimeter fence around the school, complete the Science laboratories and finalise the examination hall, among others.

” Economic empowerment and human capital development will receive renewed attention and we are determined to modernise ECDA operations,” he said.
He, however, solicited for the support of Sule , stakeholders, sons and daughters of Eggon and friends of Eggon to assist in constructing the perimeter fence and complete other renovation works at the school.
” I appeal to the stakeholders to assist the association with a vehicle to ease transportation challenges, enable us to reach all Eggon communities , preach peace effectively and discharge our responsibilities without hindrance.
” We also need support to complete the Digital Secretariat, among others,” he said.
The Voice Media Trust ( VMT NEWS) reports that other officials Inaugurated included Mohammed Arigbadu- Vice President, Umar Abdullahi-Galle- General Secretary, Barnabas Anvah-Assistant General Secretary, Gyabo Sulaiman- PRO and Dogara Edzi as Treasurer.
Others were: Emmanuel Edro- Financial Secretary, Abaine Samuel -Auditor, Danladi Umbugadu- Provost Marshall and Haruna Adigidizi- Social and Cultural Officer.
