NAPTIP Empowers Trafficked Persons, GBV Survivors In Sokoto

The Sokoto State Zonal Command of National Agency for Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) today, Wednesday empowered trafficked persons and survivors of Gender Based Violence (GBV) with sewing machines, hair drying machine and a trolley to enable them start up something towards self reliance.
Highlighting the essence of the exercise, the Public Relations Officer, of Sokoto NAPTIP Zonal Command, Hassantu Mikailu, admitted that their happiness goes beyond empowerment to ensuring that, a good number of these perpetrators are cooling off their healds in the various detentions.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Commander, Sokoto NAPTIP Zonal Command, Abubakar Abdulahi Tabra said they are always happy geting such assistance to beneficiaries for self reliance.

Tabra, however appealed to beneficiaries, saying, they should not resell whatever that is given to them.
He further noted that, the Command will do a follow up by monitoring the level of progress to ascertain how well they are utilizing whatever that is given to them.
The Zonal Commander also promised to ensure that the Command will help encourage patronage for the trafficking persons.

Reacting to the gesture, one of the benefiaries, an 11 years old survivor of defilement, (name withheld) from Sokoto South local government within the metropolis, said, NAPTIP have helped in restoring her dignity.
”I must appreciate NAPTIP and all their wonderful staff, especially, the PRO, Hassanah for her show of motherly love and consistent advise. All I can say, is that, may Almighty Allah continue to bless NAPTIP and all others engaged in humanitarian services””.
