Nasarawa Assembly passes Nasarawa Broadcasting Service Bill

 

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has passed into law a Bill for a Law to  Enact the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service and for Other Matters Connected Therewith.

Dr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House, announced the passage of the bill into law during the house proceedings on Tuesday in Lafia.

The speaker said that the bill, if finally assented to, would boost the station via effective service delivery.

Jatau also said that the bill has made provision for the Governor to appoint a Director-General as head of the station, General Manager and Deputy General for both Lafia and Keffi stations, respectively.

He directed the Clerk of the house to produce a clean copy of the law and communicate same to Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his further necessary action.

Earlier, Mr Abel Bala, the Deputy  Majority Leader of the house moved a motion for the bill to scale third reading.

Mr Onarigu Kana, the Deputy Minority Leader seconded the motion.

The house unanimously passed the bill into third reading.
