Nasarawa lawmaker commits to prioritising healthcare for constituents

A lawmaker at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Solomon Akwashiki, has committed to prioritising healthcare in the remaining years of his intervention programmes in the assembly.

Akwashiki, representing Lafia Central constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, made the commitment on Friday, while hosting members of “Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN).

He said he would be prioritising the health of his constituents in his remaining two years in office.

The lawmaker said he was fine-tuning a blueprint to capture the needed communities and individuals on his heath programme.

He pledged to engage members of IBBN for the task.

“In my last two years, I have focused on education, skills acquisition, provision of infrastructural amenities, empowerment and job opportunities.

“In the remaining two years in office, I will prioritise the health of my constituents for their improved health status,” he said.

Akwashiki further assured of his effective and quality representation at the state legislature.

Earlier, the Coordinator of IBBN, Mr Samuel Affakpo, informed the lawmaker that the initiative was a national platform that identified with leaders who prioritised dividends of democracy.

“Hence,  the need to visit you, given your track records of achievements in ameliorating the plights of the downtrodden,” he said

Affakpo, however, called on the lawmaker to contest for House of representatives of Lafia/ ObI Federal Constituency in 2027.

The group honoured Akwashiki as the Patron of IBBN.
