Nasarawa lawmaker inaugurates free medical outreach for 3,000 indigent constituents
Mr Solomon Akwashiki, member representing Lafia Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, on Tuesday in Lafia, inaugurated a five-day free medical outreach for 3, 000 indigent members of his constituency.
The lawmaker said that the medical initiative embarked upon under the Solomon AKwashiki Foundation was geared towards touching lives of the less privileged members of his constituency.
He explained that the medical outreach would cover areas such as surgery, eye consultations and distribution of glasses and medication, as well as health education.
He reiterated his commitment to bringing dividends of democracy to the door steps of his people, and providing quality representation at the state legislature.
Akwashiki called on the people to avail themselves of the opportunity for their health wellbeing and the development of the constituency.
In his remarks, while declaring the event open, Dr Danladi Jatau, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly commended the lawmaker for prioritising the healthcare needs of his people.

“This is democracy in action, this is dividends of democracy, giving back to the people, I am proud of Hon. Akwashiki, ” he said
The speaker urged the people of the constituency to give Akwashiki all the needed support to succeed beyond 2027.
On his part, Dr Ebele Yakubu, leader of the medical team, said the outreach would cover surgery, eyes treatment, consultation and dispensation of medication among others.
He called on individuals with health challenges to take advantage provided by the lawmaker to address their health needs.
