NAWOJ HONOUR ZAMFARA FIRST LADY FOR SERVICE TO HUMANITY

The Zamfara State Chapter of the Nigerian Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has on Monday presented honor award to Zamfara State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bello-Matawalle for uplifting lives of Women and vulnerable  groups in the state in the state.

The honouring ceremony which took place at Zamfara State Teachers Training Center, Gusau was attended by traditional leaders,  political office holders,  Media Practitioners and other stakeholders in the state. 

Speaking at the event, the State NAWOJ Chairperson, Hajiya Salamatu Umar said the event is to award the First Lady for her service to humanity.

She described Aisha Bello Matawalle as mother of the motherless that bridge between the rich and the poor.

“We are impressed with various programmes and activities run by the First Lady especially in the Fight against Gender Based Violence (GBV), Health Care Delivery and Women Empowerment. 

“Hajiya Aisha is the First Lady by name and First Lady by nature a well deserved honor is given to whom is due.

“We also prayed to Almighty Allah to give her more wisdom and inspiration to continue with the philanthropist activities in the area of Women Empowerment, Poverty Alleviation, Girl’s Child Education, Maternal Mortality, Assisting Orphans and lesspriviledge. 

‘”We also appreciate her excellency for the endless love and support she has for the NAWOJ and entire working Journalists in the state “, NAWOJ Chair Lady explained. 

The State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Abdulrazak Bello Kaura described the event as a welcome initiative and recognition by the working Journalists the Nawojians to present award to the mother of the state. 

Kaura thanked her excellency for rendering various activities to support various categories of needy in the state.  

He commended  the First Lady for the developmental projects she embarked on to compliments the giant effort of Governor Bello Matawalle in his bid to transform the state.

The Chairman of the occasion Alhaji Jamilu Zannan Gusau congratulate her excellence for the well deserved honor. 

Zannan Gusau appealed to other association to contribute more in promoting good leadership in the society.

The State Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Sulaiman Anka thanked the Media for recognizing the activities  of the present administration, in the state led by Governor Bello Matawalle.

Anka noted that the various programmes initiated by the administration of Governor Bello Matawallen-Maradun through the office of  the First Ladymhave uplifted the lives of vulnerable groups in the society. 

Receiving the award, The First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle thanked the Association for honouring her and dedicated the award given to her husband Governor Bello Matawallen Maradun.

The First Lady represented by the Special Adviser to Governor Bello Matawalle on Investment, Dr Rabi Shinkafi described the activities of NAWOJ in enlightening the general especially in the area of women development. 

“I commend NAWOJ for their dedication and contribution to the state and National development. 

“I thank the association for increasing women access in leadership, promoting gender equality and women empowerment.

“I thanked My husband,  his excellency Governor Bello Matawallen-Maradun, Shatiman Sokoto for his contribution to women development in the state”, Her excellency explained. 

“I want to assure you members of the NAWOJ and entire people of the state,  l will continue to do more in supporting women development until such a time when all the women in zamfara state are well empowered”, the First Lady she assured 

”With this these few remarks, I want to humbly accept this award and will continue to do more for the humanity”, she added.
