The Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C) has praised the organisers of the YUCATECO amateur boxing tournament, which began on Thursday in Lagos.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that YUCATECO is hosting the tournament in partnership with the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the African Boxing Union (ABU).

“This is a commendable initiative, and the organisers deserve praise for the level of preparation given to the boxers.
“This project will not only develop the boxers but also keep them away from negative influences that could ruin their futures,” Aboderin stated.
He noted that the tournament would enhance the boxers’ skills and improve their rankings as they transition to the professional level.
