NCC Seeks Feedback on Spectrum Roadmap and 60GHz Guidelines to Drive High-Speed Connectivity
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is inviting public and industry feedback on two crucial draft regulatory documents designed to accelerate the deployment of ultra-high-speed wireless connectivity in Nigeria over the next five years.
These documents, a Draft Spectrum Roadmap (2025–2030) and Draft Guidelines for the Use of the 60 GHz License-Exempt Band, are now open for review.
Published in accordance with the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), 2003, these proposals outline the NCC’s strategic vision for spectrum management and aim to facilitate advanced wireless systems.
The Spectrum Roadmap focuses on efficient utilization, supporting new technologies, and expanding broadband access, ensuring Nigeria’s policies remain competitive globally.
The proposed 60 GHz guidelines will establish a framework for deploying high-capacity, short-range wireless systems capable of delivering multi-gigabit speeds.

This technology is seen as vital for enabling next-generation applications, including dense urban broadband, fixed wireless access, enterprise networks, and wireless back haul.
The NCC urges all stakeholders, including network operators, manufacturers, consumer groups, and the general public, to submit their comments and recommendations electronically by Friday, January 16, 2025, to the specified email addresses.
The Commission emphasizes that this input is essential for refining the frameworks to foster innovation, attract investment, and promote sustainable growth in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector.
