NDE trains 100 unemployed youths on sustainable agriculture in Kebbi
The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in Kebbi, has commenced the training of 100 unemployed youths in Modern Agricultural Production, Marketing and Agri-preneurial under it’s Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS).

Fikpo, said during flag -off and orientation training in Binrin Kebbi on Tuesday that the training would cover crop and livestock production in agricultural aspect.
“The training of 100 unemployed youths comprises males and females, and they will be trained in Modern Agricultural Production, Marketing and Agri-preneurial under it’s Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS).

“The aim of the training is to promote the Federal Government Policy thrust of diversifying the economy through boosting Agricultural Production in the Country.
“It is important to state that Agricultural Sector is the largest employer of labour.
“To this end, the scheme will help generate employment, reduce poverty and create wealth,” he said.
Nuhu-Fikpo, who was represented by the State Coordinato of the directorate in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Danjuma- Machika, said that the training, which had two component parts of theoretical and practical aspects, was expected to last for three months.
The D-G urged the participants to take the training seriously in order to better their standard of living and assist
themselves as well as the country at large.
Earlier, the Representative of the Director, Rural Employment Promotion (REP) Department of the NDE Headquarters, Mr Joshua Sunday, enjoined the participants to listen attentively to the Resource Persons that would take them through the different topics.
He also advised them to comply with the Covid-19 protocols during the training.
One of the participants, Adamu Dummi, thanked the DG and the management of the NDE for giving them the opportunity to participate in the programme.
