NDE trains 50 graduates on post- sustainable agricultural development in Kebbi

The National Directorate of Employment ( NDE), in Kebbi, has commenced the training of 50 graduated trainees of Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) under the Rural Employment Programme (REP) in the state.

The Director- General of the NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, disclosed this during the flag-off ceremony of the one- week training programme in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

He said,” The 50 graduated trainees of Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) will be given one – week specialized training on the practical application of government agricultural policies.

“The policies consist of the provision of incentives, linkages of the participants to other sources of funding to further create employment, promote high productivity and quality of life of the participants.”

Fikpo, who was represented by the state Coordinator of directorate, Alhaji Abdullahi Danjuma Machika, said the programme being a novice programme, was aimed at providing agricultural skills, provision of more food, create employment and reduce poverty.

The DG urged the participants to pay attention to the Resource Persons in order to benefit optimally from the training.

Also speaking, one of the participants, Abubakar Mohammed, thanked the DG and the NDE for availing them with the opportunity to participate in the programme.
