NGO donates 110kva generator worth N1m to Equity FM station in Kebbi
The Khadimiyya for Justice and Development Initiative (KJDI), an NGO of Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubabkar Malami,SAN, has donated110 KVA generator worth N9 million to Equity Frequency Modulation (FM), Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State.
While presenting the generator in Birnin Kebbi on Sundah to the FM management, Malami, represented by Alhaji Aliyu Tanko,said that the donation was to facilitate to help further boost efforts of information dissemination to people at the grassroots in the state.
He said,”The NGO found it imperative to extend its benevolence to estate of the fourth realm in the present convention media challenge, considering it’s numerous contribution especially in enlightening, educating and informing the general public about the happenings around them.”

Also speaking, Dr Umar Jibril-Gwandu, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations to Malami, stressed the need to help radio station as a major means of conveying information to the grassroots and hard- to- reach remote areas.
“The minister has so far registered his gestures in different aspects which include education, health, human and capacity development, among others.
” It is high time to render support on radios and other means of communication because of the vital roles they play in bringing the government nearer and more closer to the people at grassroots.
“Information is often disseminated by radio in the hope that people will improve their knowledge base and subsequently make better judgements in future situations.
“Information is often disseminated in order to educate, explain or promote a concept, process or principle; this is important as we are facing challenges of covid-19 and insecurity which the radio will help to enlighten them on measures to tame the separate of the diseases and make people to be security conscious in their environment,” he said.
Receiving the donation, the Acting Manager of the FM, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad, expressed happiness of the management for having such a modern generator at their disposal.
“We sought the assistance of the generator less than a month now and here we already have it
“With the availability of the generator, we can guarantee an uninterrupted service to the people, and this is only possible because,the NGO has the people at its heart,” he said.
Muhammad, who thanked the NGO for the gesture, assured the listeners of improved and uninterrupted service in the state.
