NMA commendes Zamfara Government for publishing 2021 Budget.
The Zamfara State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has commended Zamfara State Government for publishing the 2021 budget in the state to ensure transparency and accountability.

This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Tuesday by the Vice Chaiman of the Association, Dr Sanusi Bello.
“The NMA wishes to commend Governor Bello Matawalle for according the health sector a greater priority of giving it the highest allocation in the 2021 budget.
“We appreciate and observed that allocation of N12.98 billion amounting for more than 9 percent of the total budget of the state.
“This is the highest in the history of our dear state and this is in tandem of the current reality of Covid-19 global pandamic.
“We wish to clearly appreciate and salute Governor Bello Matawalle for this boldness and for taken concrete steps to put the health sector in a good shape in order to effectively serve the people of the state”, he said
Dr Sanusi Bello also lauded the state government for construction of the state isolation and treatment center (Infectious Diseases Hospital), expansion of Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Construction of 147 Primary Health Centers (PHCs), 14 Women and Children Hospitals in the state.
Bello noted that another laudable efforts made by the state government to promote health sector is ensuring the establishment of Primary Healthcare under one roof of achieving universal health care coverage through the State Health Insurance.
“This will no doubt improve access to quality have care and ensure improvement of quality of life and ultimately reduces maternal and child morbidity and motarnity in the state.
“The NMA wish to call on Zamfara government to match words with action by ensuring timely releases of funds to the ministry of health and agencies under her, health care facilities to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services to the people of the state.
“The NMA will continue to partner with Zamfara government towards ensuring a robust healthcare industry that will serve the best interest of the people of the state”, he added.
