Gombe State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Muhammad Bello, has ordered the deployment of 800 officers and men ahead of Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
Bello made this disclosure in a press statement signed by Public Relations Officer SC Saad Buhari, which was obtained by our correspondent on Friday.
According to the statement the order would ensure lives and critical assets are protected throughout the duration of the festival and after.
The statement partly read, “The 800 officers and men are to ensure safety, security of residents and the protection of critical assets, infrastructures.
“To ensure a hitch-free 2024 Eid -el Kabir sallah celebration in the state.”
Bello who issued the directive through an operational order for effective monitoring tasked all area commanders, divisional officers, all tactical unit commanders to emplace and ensure a robust security arrangement in all worship grounds for a hitch-free worship, calling on members of the public to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency.
“Protect lives and property of all citizens and visitors alike, before, during and after the celebration. Protect all critical assets, public and private. Maintain law and order throughout the state before during and after the Eid el Fitr Celebration,” the statement added.
