NYSC Sensitizes Sokoto Community On Gender Base Violence

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Sokoto State has carried out campaign against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Sifawa Community, Bodinga LGA, Sokoto State
The NYSC Director-General, Brig.-Gen. YD Ahmed , said that the program was aimed at exposing all forms of ill of Gender Base Violence bedeviling the society.
The DG who was represented by Sokoto State NYSC Coordinator Usman Yakubu Yaro, said the Campaign is taking place in rural communities across the northern States.

Yakubu further explained that the essence of the program is to ensure the right of individual irrespective of gender or age are not violated , hence giving them the opportunity to realize their potentials.

DG appealed to the Community Leaders, Religious Institutions, Local Government Administrators, Principals, Guidance and Counselling Officers, Corps Employers and Parents to support the program for proper and successful implementation
In his remark, the NYSC Gender Desk Officer Sokoto State, Mr Alesa Thalma Umoru , revealed that, the NYSC had been at the fore front in fighting the course of gender inequality through the aid of Corps Gender Vanguards
The event featured presentation of playlet which depicted the ills of Gender Based Violence and the advantages of Girl child education as well as Goodwill messages from the community leaders
