Osun Assembly Speaker launches business fund for 100 small scale businesses in Odo-Otin

Okuku Town Hall on Wednesday buzzed with excitement, as the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun launched the Business Fund for 100 small-scale business owners in the Odo Otin State Constituency.

The event was aimed at driving economic development to the area by providing vital financial resources and fostering growth within the local business community.

While addressing the gathering, Rt. Hon. Egbedun, stressed that investing in small businesses is crucial for driving sustainable economic growth and development in Odo Otin State Constituency.

He highlighted the Fund as a significant initiative that will empower local entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses, ultimately creating job opportunities and fostering economic prosperity for the constituency.

The Speaker emphasised the importance of supporting homegrown enterprises, stating that the fund will provide a much-needed boost to the local economy.

“With this fund, we are investing in the dreams of our people, the aspirations of our youth, and the future of our community.”

“We believe that by supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs, we can drive innovation, create jobs, and foster a culture of self-sufficiency that will serve our community for generations to come,” he said.

The Speaker went on to praise the community’s spirit of entrepreneurship, noting that Odo Otin has a rich tradition of small businesses and self-starters.

“Today, we are unleashing the potential of our people, empowering them to pursue their dreams and build a better future for themselves and their families.”

“With this fund, we are saying to our community that we believe in you, we believe in your talents and your vision, and we will support you every step of the way.”

Egbedun concluded by urging the recipients of the fund to use the funds wisely, investing in their businesses and their communities, and to serve as role models for future generations of entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the event, a former governor of the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, expressed his admiration for Rt. Hon. Egbedun’s dedication to improving the lives of the people of Odo Otin.

The former governor praised the Speaker for recognising the importance of investing in local entrepreneurs and providing them with the resources they need to thrive.

He emphasised that small businesses are the backbone of any thriving economy, adding that the efforts of Rt. Hon. Egbedun would have a lasting impact on the community.

Oyinlola called on the people of Odo Otin to stand behind Rt. Hon. Egbedun and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, acknowledging the positive impact their work was having on the community.

He emphasised the importance of ongoing support for the government’s efforts to foster economic growth and prosperity, noting that small businesses were critical to this objective.

The beneficiaries of the fund expressed their appreciation for the opportunity as a chance not only to improve their individual circumstances, but also contribute to the growth and prosperity of their communities.

The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Commissioner for Home Affairs in the state, Hon. Rasheed (Asendo); Odo Otin Party Chairmen, political appointees, Chairmen of the Odo Otin North, South and Central; Odo Otin PDP Elders Chairman, Alhaji Raimi, and other distinguished party members.
