Our diversity is source of strength, not weakness- Gov Fintiri
Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has said the diversity of the state should be a source of strength, not weakness.

Fintiri stated this while presenting the Staff of Office to Alhaji Ahmadu Saibaru as the first Emir of Maiha on Thursday.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that the governor had recently created two emirates and five districts, which have been criticised by groups and individuals in the state.
He said each ethnic group has something positive to contribute to the emirate and state as a whole.
Fintiri congratulated Saibaru and urged him to cultivate inclusivity, equity, fairness and justice in his reign.
“You must carry everyone along, whether they are Njanyi, Bata, Fulani, Kanuri, Holma, and so on, and must not discriminate on the basis of religion.

“You must also accord priority to issues of security of lives and property.
“I also expect that the relationship between Maiha emirate and government at both local and state levels will not only be cordial but strong ,” he said.
Fintiri said his government remained resolute in its commitment to peace and unity and recognise constructive criticism as essential for good governance.

“But we will not allow baseless accusations and negativity to derail our efforts to build a better Adamawa State for all.
“We, therefore, stand firmly in our conviction that these reforms, including the creation of new Chiefdoms and Emirates, represent a progressive step towards reinforcing the traditional leadership system in Adamawa,” he said.

In his remarks, Saibaru thanked Fintiri for the appointment and assured his readiness to carry everyone along irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
