Over 6000 Students Take Matriculation Oath In UDUS
As VC charges them to shun social vices.

No fewer than 5962 students have taken matriculation oath at Usman DanFodio University, (UDUS) Sokoto as the vice chancellor of the university Prof, Lawal Suleiman Bilbis has advised the newly matriculated students to avoid cultism, examination malpractice and other social vices.
He stated this at the 43rd matriculation ceremony of the school for post graduate and undergraduate students.
According to him, the university had zero tolerance to cultism, examination malpractice, sexual harassment, indecent dressing, drug abuse, saying the university would not hesitate to expel any student found guilty of the above offences.
He said “if found guilty of any of the above vices the university will not hesitate to expel the student as UDUS has zero tolerance to crime.
“Not only that you will be expelled but you will be handed over to police for prosecution,”he said.
The VC reminded the new students that their mission in the institution was to study hard so as to make good result on graduation.
“The reason why your parents sent you to the university is to study hard and make good result on graduation, other things you do is secondary or a distraction he stated.
“To be found worthy both in learning and character on graduation you must study hard, obey the university rules and regulations, ” he said.
He reminded the newly admitted students that UDUS has outstanding tradition of quality in both character modelling and learning stressing that the university has being maintaining the feats for over 45 years.

He urged the students to seized the opportunity of the serene atmosphere of the school to develop themselves into a patriotic citizens of this great country, saying their future is in their hands.
Bilbis congratulated the matriculating students for being qualified to be admitted in UDUS, noting that, many applied for admission but not all were given admission.
“Is my wish that you will make good use of opportunities both providence and the university have provided for you in making your admission possible he said.
“The mission of UDUS as university is to seek truth, preach the truth, to preserve the truth as well as to restore the dignity of man, “he said.
