Plateau gov’t praises armed forces for improving security
The Plateau government has commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their sustained efforts in tackling insecurity and restoring peace across the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mrs Joyce Ramnap, spoke on Saturday at the 2025 West African Social Activities organised by the 551 Nigerian Air Force Station in Jos.
Ramnap said military operations, particularly by the Nigerian Air Force, had helped avert attacks on communities and contributed significantly to the prevailing calm in Plateau.
“Let me thank the military, particularly the NAF, for your contribution to the peace-building process on the Plateau.
“The government is deeply appreciative of the sacrifices and efforts being made by security operatives to safeguard lives and property in the state,” Ramnap said.
She praised the professionalism and resilience of the armed forces, noting that their commitment aligned with the state’s aspiration for lasting peace and unity.

“The Plateau Government will do everything possible to ensure a more peaceful society where everyone can live together in harmony,” she assured.
Also speaking, former Plateau governor, Sen. Joshua Dariye, commended the armed forces for addressing internal security challenges and external threats.
Dariye, however, called for increased funding to enable the military to perform optimally in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
Earlier, the Commander of the 551 NAF Station, Air Commodore Friday Bassey, described WASA as a tradition celebrating shared identity, cultural heritage and collective achievements of the NAF.
