Police detain 4 officers for alleged breach of standard operational procedure

The Police in Adamawa confirmed the arrest and detention of four police officers for alleged indiscipline and breach of standard operational procedure.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command spokesperson, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Yola.

He said that the officers used excessive force and shoot in the air to effect arrest of a suspect.

The police said the unfortunate incident occurred on Oct. 14 at Sabon gari quarters, Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa.

The Commissioner of Police, (CP) Dankombo Morris, who frowned at the unprofessional conduct displayed by the police officers, urged members of the public to remain calm as the law will definitely take its course.

The CP directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the IGP’s X Squard to conduct a thorough and diligent investigation on the matter.
