POLICE PARADES 33 KIDNAPERS,OTHERS, RESCUE 24 CHILDREN FROM CHILD TRAFFICKING IN ADAMAWA.

The commissioner, Adamawa state command of the Nigerian Police force Sikiru Akande has described his two weeks as the new state commissioner as quite eventful after successfully arresting 33 suspected kidnapers, Rapists, Culpable homicide and other criminal activity in the state.

He made the revelation while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Yola the Adamawa state capital.

According to him, the men of the command were prompt in complying with his laid down policing strategy and directives which led to the successful operation:

” Thirty three suspects in connection to kidnapping activities, rape,culpable homicide,armed robbery among others from across the state were apprehended.
Five AK 47 riffles, one pump action with breech number 1911034, one locally made pistol, three vehicles, one tricycle, cash of N937,000 were recovered “.

In the same vain, the commissioner also confirm that the command has rescued 24 under aged children ( boys and girls) who were taken away from the state for human trafficking and child labour:

” We are able to trace some under age children ( boys and girls) who are indigenes of Adamawa state that had been taken for child labour across Nigeria’

“Presently, 24 of them are in our custody; They were rescued from different parts of Nigeria”.

He clarify that the children between 7 and 13 years of age were rescued from Kaduna, Enugu, Jos and other parts of the country.

Akande noted that the police lacked facility to cater for the children,that is why he is appealing to the general public, especially parents whose children were missing to come for verification at the command’s headquarters.
And also appealed to the state Government for assistance.
