Police Will collaborates With Other Security Agencies For Hitch Free Poll : DIG Inuwa

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Northwest zone, Muhammad Inuwa said Nigerian police would collaborate with other security agencies to ensure a hitch free poll in the Zone
Inuwa made the disclosure on Thursday at police headquarters , Sokoto while briefing men of Nigerian Army, police and other paramilitaries in the State.
The DIG noted that he is in Sokoto on monitoring and assessment and to meet with security stakeholders in the state.

He said as a security personnel they must remain apolitical saying they have no sympathy for any Political party.
“Our own duty is to maintain law and order during and after election he stated.
He said this synergy would continue even after the election stressing that when it comes to internal security police are in forefront that is why we are here to rub mind together to ensure hitch free election.
” You Know government comes and government goes but we remain loyal to government in power to ensure peace reign in the country.
The DIG also went into close door meeting with traditional leaders, political parties, EU election observers where he enjoined Political parties to caution their supporters to refrain from violence during and after the election.
He maintained that no legible voter will be disfranchised saying they are ready to deal decisively with those who want to forment trouble during and after the election.
He further explained that as president Muhammadu Buhari said he would like to leave a legacy of conducting credible, fair and acceptable election stressing that the police and other security agencies would help him to actualizing that vision .

Earlier in his welcome address the Commissioner of police Sokoto state Muhammad Usaini Gumel said as part of preparation for hitch free poll the command held series of inter agency consultative meetings where every security agency pledged to do everything to ensure violence free election.
“DIG let me inform you this morning as part of our preparation we went out for show of force , not to intimidate anybody but to inform the people that we are ready he said.
He said arrangement are on top gear for election to hold in some parts of the state that have security challenges especially the Eastern senatorial zone.
Speaking on behalf of all political parties the chairman of All Progressives Congress in the state Alhaji Isa Sadiq Acida said APC as a party is satisfied with the security arrangement for the election.
He further disclosed that they are happy with the level of preparedness of Independent National Electoral Commission saying they will cooperate with concern electoral stakeholders for successful polls.
