Ramadan: Police suspend traditional Tashe performance in Kano over security concerns
The Kano State Police Command has suspended the traditional Tashe performance during Ramadan to prevent the spread of criminality.
The decision followed consultations with the State Government.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s Spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa in Kano on Sunday.
The command has put in place security measures to tackle such activities and ensure a peaceful Ramadan period.

The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, urged parents, guardians, and the general public to cooperate with the police by guarding their children and wards against engaging in any form of activity that may breach law and order.
“Anyone found violating the law will face the full consequences of their action.
“The command wishes the people of Kano State a happy and successful Ramadan fasting,” he said.
