Roads Construction Boost People’s Economic Activities, Says Bogoro LG Chairman

Executive Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Council in Bauchi State, Mr. Iliya Habila has noted that road construction in any societal set up promote the economic and social milieu of the people.

Mr. Habila while speaking to Journalists in Bogoro on Tuesday at the flag-off of construction of Bogoro – Lusa road in the area expressed regret that the immediate past APC administration in the State wasted its four years of stewardship in slumber.

Habila told the press that the past administration has nothing to write home about in terms of execution of developmental projects in the state.

He therefore expressed delight with the fagging off of the construction of Bogoro – Lusa and Boi – Tapshin road projects in Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas respectively, saying the roads would boost the economic and social activities of people in the two areas.

Describing the occasion as very historic, the chairman said the two old roads are inaccessible during the rainy seasons, hence people in the two area are extremely happy with the Governor Bala led administration’s gesture of the projects.

He said, “I’m very happy during my tenure government has come with an intervention linking communities in the two council areas that were hitherto neglected by successive past administrations in the state”.

Habila recalled that Lusa was a farming community with a lot of vibrant markets, stressing that the absence of roads network has hitherto slowed down the economic and social activities of the people.

“With Boi – Tapshin road, Boi is a border town with Plateau state. So with Boi having a big market in the area, you can imagine the commercial activities and the volume of revenues to be generated with the actualization of the road”

He noted that while Tapshin is in Tafawa Balewa, the road will link up to Pankshin and Kanke federal road in Plateau state, assuring that people in the two areas would soon be in Bauchi to thank Governor Bala Mohammed for the projects, having been forgotten for quite along time.

Prestigious appointments have been given to the area in the services of the state government, laudable projects have been sited in the area, the government has restore the confidence of the people, and people generally are happy with the Kauran Bauchi led administration”.

Habila noted that Governor Bala Mohammed has been serving the people with his whole heart, saying the execution of road projects economically empowers the people thereby making them self reliance.
