SCI to support Zamfara with M&E framework on social protection
Save the Children International an NGO has promised to support Zamfara state government with Monitoring and Evaluation Framework on social protection through the Foreign, Commonwealth’s and Development Office (FCDO) funded project.
The Advocay and Communication Officer of the SCI Nura Muhammad disclosed this in Gusau on Thursday at the monthly Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting on social protection in the state.
NAN reports that the state government has been partnering with the FCDO funded project “Child Development Grant Project, (CDGP)” in strengthening social protection system in the state.
The CDGP project is implemented in the state through Save the Children International (SCI).

Muhammad said “this will be part of the SCI support in strengthening social protection system in the state”.
“This followed requests from some social protection implementing MDAs in the state such as Zamfara Poverty Alleviation Agency (ZAPA), State Bureau of Statistics and Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
“We are ready to support the state in the area of M&E strategic development on social protection.
“The SCI has already contacted its consultants about this issue, very soon they will come to the state and meet with key stakeholders and identified MDAs”, he explained.
He said the M&E should cover all MDAs in the state.
In an opening remark, the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Garba Altine-Dauran assured state government commitments to sustain all its initiated social protection programmes in the state aimed providing succour vulnerable groups in the state.
Altine-Dauran also thanked the SCI and other development partners for their support towards promoting social protection in the state.
He reitarated the government commitments to implement policies and programmes that will enhance social protection activities in the state.
Malam Nasiru Biyabiki, the Chairman Zamfara Social Protection Platform (ZSPP), a state based CSO, commended members of the TWG and MDAs for active participation towards promoting social protection activities in the state.
Biyabiki called on all stakeholders in the state activities to continue to support programmes for the sustainanabity of social protection in the state.
