Security forces neutralize 20 IPOB/ESN members in Imo raid
Troops, as part of Operation Udo Ka, conducted a successful raid in Mother Valley, Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State on March 7, resulting in the elimination of 20 IPOB/ESN members.
The joint operation involved collaboration between the military, police, Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
In a statement released on Sunday, Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed the operation’s success. The security forces cleared approximately 50 IPOB/ESN hideout tents, including the terrorists’ Supreme Headquarters, Command and Control Centre, and Military Council Headquarters.
Buba stated, “Troops also cleared Buteuzor’s hideout/residence office, logistic base, temple, and shrine, all well-concealed with foliage to evade air surveillance.
The criminals utilised the Valley’s sufficient power supply for their camps, where they hibernated, reared animals, and maintained farms for self-sustenance.”
The operation faced challenges as troops encountered various command IEDs and ditches along the axis to the camp, highlighting the complexity of the mission.
